Butterfly is the second work of art produced by Factum Arte which has started in 2013 a collaboration with the contemporary artist Mariko Mori. The New York based japanese artist uses cutting edge technology to create mesmerising sculptures and installations.
The piece was initially modeled as a 3D form in Mariko Mori's New York studio and printed by Materialise; it was then sanded and filled in Factum Arte warehouse and taken to a spray oven where it was painted with a special holographic paint made by Lechler in Como, Italy.
Butterfly has been presented by the Scai the bathhouse gallery during Art Basel 2013 and Art Basel Miami 2013 and during the solo exhibition "Infinite Renew" at Espace Louis Vuitton in Tokyo.
