This work, with its deep exploration of human identity and psychological landscapes, exemplifies not only Pitrè’s diversity of practice but also Malta’s contemporary cultural ambitions. Pitrè’s legacy goes beyond this extraordinary piece: he paved the way for experimental art in Malta, he widened this artistic conversation, showing how Maltese art can address universal themes. His body of work incorporates the essence of what MICAS is promoting: art that engenders a Maltese experience can find a global audience. – Owen Bonnici, Minister for the National Heritage, the Arts and Local Government (from The Times of Malta)

Factum Arte was honored to create Maltese artist Raymond Pitré (1940-2024)'s Figure in Rods, marking both his first public artwork and his final piece before his passing. The sculpture was commissioned from MICAS Malta for the first exhibition about a Maltese artist on the island.

The work, consisting of intricate rod forms enclosing a human figure, explores the delicate balance between structure and abstraction, offering a profound reflection on human identity and psychological landscapes. Factum Arte's recorded Pitré's original maquette in 3D using photogrammetry to create a 3D model that was cast in bronze and bronze-plated steel at Fademesa Foundry in Madrid. The sculpture was patinated for outdoor display.

Permanently installed at MICAS Malta since January 10th 2025, the sculpture stands as a testament to Pitré’s visionary approach to art and his lasting influence despite his status as an outsider artist for several years.
