The new Burton series of tapestries, woven at B&T Textilia in Belgium, was made by Jan Hendrix in collaboration with Factum Arte. The four tapestries were on display as part of the solo exhibition 'Atlas' organised at Casa de Cultura Citibanamex – Museo Casa Montejo in Mérida (December 6, 2022 - May 28, 2023).
The void left by the extraction and dismemberment of trees and bushes is represented by the vivid contrast of white over black, juxtaposing absence and presence. The tapestries are on display in front of a series of silkscreen prints of fractured landscapes, and several pieces from the Yagul series.
