Mathias Bengtsson´s body of work reimagines archetypical forms of furniture such as the chaise longue, the bench and the dining table. These objects serve as points of departure to create objects that surpass their functional use and create works that push the limits of the imaginable in shapes that never existed before.

Since 2013, Bengtsson has created works at Factum Arte in materials and shapes that explore the tension between the artisanal and precision engineering. Maple Mesh Table was realized by routing 50 different pieces of wood with a 7-axis robot.
