Fabio Dartizio


Fabio Dartizio is an artist interested in creating works that address human finitude. Topics such as distance and separation are central to his investigation, often with reference to natural elements and through the medium of sculpture, drawing and installation.

In late 2016, Dartizio started to explore the subject of lightning. This frozen entity depicts the desire to catch and preserve a bright, enlightening moment, followed by a fleet effect that every human has experienced.

Dartizio was born in Milan and he lives and works in London.

He has participated in different group exhibitions including

Recent solo exhibitions include Death of a star and elsewhere, Francesco Messina Museum, Milan (2016) and Steam and steel, ExChiesetta, Polignano a Mare (2017).

In 2017 Dartizio was awarded The Mona Hatoum Bursary, The Lumen Prize, and has been an artist in residence at The Tokyo University of Art.

In 2018 Societe Generale named him as the winner of a foyer sculpture commission for its new UK headquarters at One Bank Street in London.
