The selection of objects has been made by Michele De Lucchi, Adam Lowe and John Wilton-Ely. Each of the objects is being made in a special limited edition. The proceeds generated by the sale of these pieces will be used to finance future exhibitions at Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice.

The production of these objects is governed by an obsessive attention to detail and coloured by the connoisseurship that inspired and motivated Piranesi. This approach has conditioned both the modelling and manufacture of each object. Merging the potential of digital technologies with traditional craft skills is at the heart of all the work produced by Factum Arte.

The editions are currently being finished and will be available from February 2011.

The Piranesi Collection can be viewed at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Venice from the end of January 2011. The Objects can also be viewed at Factum Arte, Madrid.

the Piranesi collection by factum arte

"Realised thanks to digital modelling by Adam Lowe’s Factum Arte studio, prototypes of tables, candelabra and a coffee pot designed by Piranesi but never made in his lifetime possess a surreal charisma to rival the furniture of Dalí."
Rachel Spence, Financial Times, September 4th 2010
