Cyril de Commarque’s new work is the next phase of his ‘Frontiers’ series. Frontiers (Great Britain) is table like form- the top is a cast and milled sheet of bronze in the shape of the United Kingdom. As if to question the ‘united’ aspect of this kingdom the sandblasted area of the land mass is cut through by the borders engraved deeply into the surface and filled with blood red resin. The tables legs are painted black and resemble a tank trap.
