John Stevens Henslow (1796 – 1861) was an English botanist, and teacher at Cambridge University. He is best known as the mentor of Charles Darwin, in fact Henslow was originally meant to sail with Fitzroy on HMS Beagle but due to personal reasons he sent his student Charles Darwin in his place.
