Carsten Höller holds a doctorate in biology, and he uses his training as a scientist in his work as an artist. Like in this piece, viewer participation is vital to all of Höller's sculptures.

For Parkett editions (Zürich, Switzerland), Factum Arte produced an edition of 50 / XXV sculptures. The anamorphic key was scanned and then cast in silver. It is accompanied by a silver cylinder that, properly positioned, reflects the key in its original shape. Both pieces hang from a silver chain so they can be displayed as a piece of jewellery plus both have been engraved with the artist’s initials and numbered.

Born 1961, Brussels (Belgium), Höller has exhibited participated in outstanding events like the 51st Venice Biennale or Documenta X. In 2006, his work was object to a show at the Turbine Hall in the Tate Modern (London, UK).
