Maria Trabulo


The Portuguese-born artist and photograher Maria Trabulo (b.1989) has exhibited both individually and collectively across Portugal and abroad since 2010, most notably at MAAT Lisbon, Galeria Múrias Centeno in Porto, the Quartier General, Switzerland, and KLUCKYLAND, Vienna.

Trabulo holds a Master degree in Art & Science from the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna, and previously graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Fine Arts in Porto and from the Academy of Fine Arts in Iceland.

Splitting her time between Vienna and Portugal, Trabulo has also participated in various publications and artist-run online projects and magazines, alongside other participations as an artist in festivals, seminars, and talks, as well as artist residencies in Germany, Italy, and Greece.

In 2013, Trabulo was a founding member of the collective Expedição; based in Porto and focused on revitalising artistic practice across the city in the wake of financial crisis, and in 2018 also co-founded In Spite Of there; a cultural space oriented to exhibitions and the fixation of local artists.
