Manuel Franquelo

One of the most important Spanish photo-realism artists, Franquelo's paintings surpass photographic illusion to explore levels of mimic resonance. His paintings are characterised by an obsession for detail and texture, as well as the variety of methods he uses to transform painting materials into the object they represent. His works can be found in some of the most prestigious collections in Spain. Franquelo is represented by Marlborough Gallery, Madrid.

One of the founders of Factum Arte, Manuel Franquelo has been using his unique skills to develop new equipment and software and make Factum Arte the unique workshop that it has become. His latest work, Palimpsest and Palindrome, is a complex multi-media installation combining double-sided tapestry and projections that involves his very work in the creation of a new laser scanner.
