One of the most important Spanish photo-realism artists, his paintings surpass photographic illusion to explore levels of mimic resonance. Franquelo’s paintings and are characterised by an obsession for detail and texture, as well as the variety of methods he uses to transform the painting materials into the object that they represent. His works can be found in some of the most prestigious collections in Spain. He is represented by the Marlborough Gallery, Madrid.
